Men at work!!

This week the electricians have been hard at work on our new lighting scheme, which has of course involved lots of cabling and discovering the delights of the old wiring!

They put up a scaffold tower and the new circular fitting for the spotlights was delivered:

then it was carefully lifted into place:

and fixed into position:

Well done, guys and thanks for putting up with the paparazzi!!

The tower has now been dismantled and everything cleared away for the weekend's weddings and Sunday services, and they have to put it all back together again on Monday!

Services this Sunday

Electricians are at work inside the church this week and next, as they upgrade the wiring and install our new lighting scheme, which is planned to make the church brighter and much more energy efficient. All work takes place at times when the church is closed, so there should be no disruption to worship!

This Sunday the banners in church and the priests' vestments all change to a festive white, for the solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Sunday morning services are: 8am said mass, 10am sung mass. There's no evening prayer on Sundays during August.

During the week, mass will be celebrated in the Lady Chapel on Tuesday at 7.30pm and on Wednesday at 10.30am (followed by tea/coffee - everyone welcome of course!).
